Mediation is a voluntary dispute resolution process which is designed to resolve differences between parties.
The mediator acts as an neutral facilitator of discussions intended to assist the parties towards a positive outcome. While a family law mediator may be an attorney, it is not necessary that the mediator be an attorney. Family Law Mediators must be trained in family law mediation. As such, the mediator represents neither party, but serves as a conduit to a positive, cost effective result.
